Student Data Privacy

AgenticED, Inc.
Effective Date: October 13, 2026

This page is written for parents, guardians, and students. It explains in plain language what we do with a student's information. The Privacy Policy is the complete legal document. This page covers the part that concerns your child, and nothing here contradicts it.

Six Commitments

These do not vary by district, by product, or by contract.

We never sell your child's information. Not to anyone, for any amount, under any circumstance. Our platform has no mechanism to do it.

We never advertise to your child. We do not use their information for advertising, for targeted advertising, or to build a marketing profile. We do not place advertising in our products at all.

We never train AI on your child's information. Your child's data does not teach a model that other people then use. The AI companies that generate our agents' replies work under terms that do not permit them to train on what we send. What our platform learns from your district stays with your district.

Your district owns your child's record. We hold it on the district's behalf and on the district's instruction. We cannot decide to use it for something new, and we must delete it when the district tells us to.

You can see it, correct it, and have it deleted. The request runs through your child's school, because the school is the record's custodian, and we will always carry out the district's instruction.

We tell you what we hold and who else handles it. The Privacy Policy names every outside company that processes any of it. There is no unnamed partner.

Information We Hold About Your Child

It depends on what your district turned on. The district decides, and we do not collect anything a district has not authorized.

Who they are: name, date of birth, email, grade, school, expected graduation year, and the identification numbers the district and state already use.

How school is going: grades, assignments, attendance, test scores, transcripts, credits earned, and progress toward graduation requirements. This information comes from your district's own systems. We do not create it.

Programs they are in: English-learner status, home language, meal program eligibility, and status in programs like foster care support or McKinney-Vento housing assistance. If your district or family provides it, a yes-or-no indicator of immigrant or refugee status, used only to find scholarships and programs set aside for those students.

A special education or Section 504 plan, if your child has one: the plan type, disability category, accommodations, goals and progress, and the services and minutes the plan provides. This is the most sensitive information we hold, and the section on special education below explains how it is handled.

Discipline records, if there are any: the incident, the action taken, and who made the referral.

Race and ethnicity: districts are required to report on equity and on whether discipline falls more heavily on some groups of students, and they cannot do that without this information.

Conversations: what your child, or you, discussed with our agents.

Documents you uploaded: please read the next section, because one of them involves an AI model reading a tax return.

Some things parents reasonably assume we hold, and we do not:

We do not store a Social Security number. There is no field for one.

We do not store health records. We have no health file on your child. If health information is part of a special education or Section 504 plan, we hold it as part of that plan and treat it as a school record. If you write something about your child's health in a message to us, it stays in that message. We do not pull it out, index it, or build a health profile.

We do not record voice. Our products can read text aloud. They do not listen. No recording of your child's voice exists anywhere in our platform.

When an AI Reads Your Information

We want to be specific here, because this is the part we would want explained to us.

Conversations. When your child or you talk to one of our agents, the conversation goes to an AI model to produce a reply. The model's provider is named in our Privacy Policy, and its terms do not permit it to train on what we send.

Questions. When a question is asked of our knowledge library, the text of the question goes to an AI service that turns it into a search pattern so we can find the right reference material.

Tax documents. If you upload a tax return or a W-2 to help complete a FAFSA, the document goes to an AI model that reads the image and pulls out the numbers the application needs. We offer this because typing tax figures by hand is a leading reason families give up on the FAFSA, and giving up costs a student real money.

Every number the model pulls out is shown to you to confirm or correct before it is used. You can always skip the upload and type the numbers in yourself.

Reading aloud. When a product reads text out loud, that text, which may include your child's information, is sent to a speech company to turn into audio. Nothing is recorded and no audio is kept.

Special Education and Section 504

If your child has an IEP or a 504 plan, that information is protected under IDEA as well as FERPA, and we treat it as the most sensitive category in the platform.

Only staff whose role requires it can reach it. We do not use your child's disability status or disability category for anything except delivering the services the plan calls for. It is not used for eligibility decisions, for grouping, or for any decision outside the plan. Evaluation reports, eligibility determinations, and accommodation details are confidential.

If you believe someone has seen your child's plan who should not have, tell your district and write to us at privacy@agenticed.com. Every change to the plan is recorded with who made it and when, and we will help your district look into it.

Benefits and Household Information

If your family uses our benefits products, we hold information about your household: its size, who lives there, your housing situation, and an income range instead of an exact figure. We do not store your income, your salary, or your tax return's bottom line as a number. Eligibility is estimated from ranges.

Those calculations happen on our own servers inside our own network. Your household information is not sent to an outside eligibility service.

Your benefits information belongs to your family. A school does not see your family's benefits participation unless you have agreed to share it.

When we cannot tell whether you qualify for something, we tell you we could not tell. We do not tell you that you do not qualify. Those are different answers, and mixing them up has cost families benefits they were entitled to.

Your Rights and How to Use Them

Under FERPA, your rights in your child's education record are exercised through your district. The district is the custodian, and we are a service provider acting under its direction. That is how the law assigns the duty, and it means your district is required to answer you.

You want to Do this
See what we hold Ask your child's school or district for the record. They can obtain everything we hold. You can also write to privacy@agenticed.com and we will work with your district to produce it.
Correct something wrong Tell the district. Most of what we hold came from the district's own systems, so correcting it there corrects it with us. If something we generated is wrong, tell us directly.
Delete your family's information Ask the district, or write to privacy@agenticed.com. See below.
Stop messages Reply STOP to any text. Change email and notification preferences in your account.
Withdraw consent for sharing Consent in our platform is recorded for each purpose and can be withdrawn for each purpose, in your account or by asking us. Withdrawing consent stops future sharing. It cannot recall something already shared, and the record that sharing was authorized at the time is kept.
Make a complaint Contact your district's privacy officer first, then your state education agency, then the U.S. Department of Education's Student Privacy Policy Office. You can also write to us, and we want to hear it.

What Deletion Does

When a deletion is approved, we remove your family's records from more than sixty places in our database in a single operation that either finishes completely or changes nothing. We do not hide the record, flag it as deleted, or anonymize it and keep it. It is gone.

Then we send a receipt. It lists what was deleted and how many records. It also lists, one by one and with a reason for each, what we kept: the audit log and the consent records.

We keep those two things on purpose. They are the evidence of who was allowed to see your child's information and when. If you ever need to establish whether a disclosure was authorized, that evidence is what proves it. Deleting it would take away your ability to hold anyone accountable, including us.

Security

The Security Overview has the details.

In short: your child's information is encrypted. Access to student records is restricted inside the database itself, in addition to our software, so that one district cannot see another district's students. Every change is recorded in a log built so that an entry cannot be altered or removed without detection. Our database is not reachable from the internet.

If information about your child is ever exposed, we will notify your district within seventy-two hours of confirming it, and we will help the district notify you as the law requires.

For Students

If you are a student reading this: it is your information. You can ask what we have about you, and you can ask us to fix it if it is wrong. If you are eighteen or in college, the rights on this page are yours instead of your parents'. If you are younger, your parent or guardian uses them for you, and you can still ask us. We will answer you.

Our agents exist to help you reach something you want: financial aid, a program, a plan. We do not use what you tell them to get you in trouble. There is one limit you should know about. If something you share makes it look like you or someone else may be in danger or is being hurt, adults at your school may be required by law to step in and get help. That rule exists to keep people safe.
